Anime I have watched..

Ok so I figured the best way to start was by listing all the anime that I have watched so far:

These are currently still running and you have to watch on a weekly basis once you catch up (you know what Im talking about lol):

  1. Naruto
  2. Bleach
  3. One Piece
  4. Element Hunters

And these are anime that Ive seen completely from beginning to end including any movies and OVAs:

  1. Inuyasha
  2. Fushigi Yuugi
  3. Marmalade Boy
  4. Samurai 7
  5. Samurai Champloo
  6. Serial Experiment Lain
  7. Tenchi Muyo
  8. Trigun
  9. Tsubasa Chronicles

I just finished watching Inuyasha and am working my way through Black Lagoon right now. I heard that Inuyasha has started up again which is awesome because I hate when an anime just ends with “well we continue on some more adventures…thanks for watching”… I HATE THAT!! ^(>_<)^

Ok enough ranting…. for now…. bwahahaha =p

MS IGLOO 2

Full title: Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO 2: The Gravity Front
Japanese title: 機動戦士ガンダム MS IGLOO 2 <イグルー2> -重力戦線-
Number of episodes: 3

Some info:
1) Wiki
2) ANN
3) Official Site (Japanese)

A sequel to the OVA series released a few years back, this time it’s back in greater clarity and detail, featuring full HD video quality as it moves to utilise the technology available to consumers. I must say that watching this in full HD is simply beautiful, though I still found a few scenes a little awkward.

Anyway, each episode features a different soldier (or military personnel if you would like) as the main character and tells a story that’s specific to each of them. Having only a little more than your average anime episode length to start a new character and story to develop and finish them nicely isn’t going to be an easy task, but I think that they are quite well handled here. Perhaps the oddest I found was the presence and influence of the Death God on the main characters, but it plays an important role in each episode in pushing the story forward. A short summary of each episode is available at the wikipedia article, so do take a look if you are interested to find out what these episodes cover.

Of course, what’s a MS animation without all the mecha. There are some mecha stuff as well as model statistics and information where applicable, and these specs are usually narrated in a story telling manner which I thought is better than just flashing it on screen. Haha. And well, as I’ve said earlier, the high quality animation really makes these units look even nicer, which of course is a good thing! =D

Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable short series, only pity that it was short. I guess it’s due to the amount of effort and work that had to be put in into creating every single scene smoothly. Not sure if there’s going to be any more sequels, but I certainly wouldn’t mind if there should be one in the future. =)

絶望した! (I'm in despair!)

No AIME. (I got 114 at most on 10B.)

Yet I’ve been pretty much preparing this whole year for the AMC.

(Didn’t make NACLO invitational, but I don’t really care now.)

Suddenly, it feels like I’m not good at anything anymore. Except maybe complaining about failing…

How to Despair

  1. Release an insanely long string of profanity
  2. Repeat “FML” (abbreviated or not, your choice) several times
  3. Repeat “I hate myself” several times
  4. Go back to step 1 and repeat

Yeah.

(…Now what am I going to do?)

Trinity Blood

“The background is in the distant future after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between the vampires and the humans continue to persist. In order to protect the humans from the vampires, the Vatican has to rely on other allies to counter the situation. The protagonist, a priest called Peter Abel Nightroad, travels through the countries as a representative for the Vatican. However, he is also part of “AX”, a special operations group controlled by the Cardinal Catherina. His encounter with a young girl called Esther will determine the struggle and survival between the human race and the vampires.“

(Above: Father Abel Nightroad.)

Truly another great anime, and one that can only truly be described as a cross between Hellsing and Trigun. Personally I find the Catholic/Christian religious overtones in it a bit much, but then whenever there’s vampires about there’s usually someone running about with a crucifix not for behind them. It also features some fancy devices known as ‘lost technologies’, and in the case of the Vatican airship known as the ‘Iron Maiden’, I’d say it had gotten lost straight from the Warhammer 40k universe.

The story is well developed as we follow the adventures, or more aptly, mis-adventures of Father Abel Nightroad in his own quest for salvation over something that happened long ago. Cue the Trigun plot devices that were blatantly stolen – Abel is immortal, has an evil brother that is also immortal (Or they age really slowly anyway), they came from space and have intricate knowledge about the ancient technologies, and Abel though his duty requires that he spread peace, much like Vash, he tries to do so without harming anyone. All because someone he cared deeply for long ago was killed by the aforementioned evil brother.

(Above: Vash the Stampede from Trigun.)

Also, once he gets pissed he uses his powers, much in the Alucard from Hellsing uses his; Alucard through the Cromwell initiative and Abel through the Crusnik nano-machines. They then become super powerful and all evil-looking. But at this stage Alucard is not so much a vampire than demon, and Abel more vampire than human. Just a few interesting *cough* blatant ripoffs *cough* …I mean, interesting coincidences there. Oh, and the way Alucard’s hair raises above his head menacingly as is it then made entirely of pure liquid evil – Abel has this too, but it was just his hair in a sort of cone shape, which made me lose all respect for his potentially bad-assed Crusnik powers.

(Above: Alucard from Hellsing.)

I can’t say I found the OP or ending sequences in any way interesting, but the rest of the music throughout the show was extremely well blended. So much so that I barely remember how it sounded – That’s how well blended it was!

Absolute Territory

One of the interesting parts in designing an anime character or just simply related to an idol’s clothing is…the absolute territory. Okay…it sounds weird but it’s more than that :D

The japanese expression “zettai ryouiki” or the absolute territory is the area of a female’s leg that is revealed between the skirt and the stoking.

A survey reveals that this is the number one fetish in Japan. So, what’s all this about. The absolute territory has a number of levels [5 to be more precisely] and as in the image from the left, the “hottest” of them is grade A…the tight-high socks. Just a small portion of the skin is revealed this way…so…it’s better :D

Absolute territory is a moe characteristic, a mark of the cuteness of the character. Most of the absolute territory are strongly related to school uniforms of mini-skirts.

This part of the costume reveals more of the femininity that the character possesses.

As you can see the main parts of the absolute territory are the stokings/socks, the skin and the skirt. Besides that the rest of the uniform and some will say that the hair and the attitude.

Like in the reality, in the anime, the absolute territory it’s meant to express sensuality.

Many artists like to create powerful characters that have to impress by their looks.

That’s why moe came into business. If the show has more attractive characters, at least one of them will be pictured like this.

Zettai Ryouiki is related to ecchi anime, but not only. Most of the females that are dressed up like this, will surely show some other things [underwear and so].

This thing generates a strange  attraction. That is why many men adore [perverts and so] to see their favorite female characters and idols in this kind of outfit.

Some anime examples would be: Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Zombie Loan, Ultimate Girls, Kanon, Shakugan No Shana and many more.

Spring '10 Animu

Chartfag’s chart’s making it’s rounds about /a/ a lot lately, figured I’d post my picks:

Before anyone says anything, I have Sex Pistols selected out of sheer morbid curiosity after hearing the premise in just about every chart thread in /a/ for the last week.

Also, 00SE3 trailer images are floating around the web if anyone hasn’t seen them yet (I imagine smiley days has them, I haven’t checked because my interest levels in 00 have dropped to near non-existent again, but some of the new mechs looked pretty sweet in the /m/ thread).

~ Gurren Lagann: Yoko Littner ~

Click the pic for the original full color version

Gurren Lagann: Yoko Littner — ヨーコ・リットナー | The figure is part of Revoltech’s Fräulein (German for “Young Lady“) series sculpted by Tomohide Enok. They are tad bigger scale than the regular series and about 6″ in height. It uses a combined Revoltech joint and a new E.L.F. joint system in which the figure has rotatable shoulder axes and curved lower pelvis for a more natural flow on the leg. It was a nice concept but ultimately the figure suffers a faster wear on the joints and becomes loose in no time, unlike the Revoltech Joints. Yoko comes with her Sniper Rifle, alternate face, alternate hair front with visors, 4 sets of hands plus 1 extra right hand so she can do her Asian “V” sign (ha!) and her stand.

Ladies versus Butlers – 07

I wish a bishoujo would fall into my arms from the sky, not a mahou shoujo.

The secret identity of the principal is… Tamaki’s Kuma-chan?!

Evil is evil, no way around it.

When they said they are releasing a doujinshi…

…I didn’t expect it to be a cosplay photobook doujinshi either…

… but it creates the opportunity to walk in upon girls changing!

Baka to Test to Shōkanjū – 07

And so, I just remembered that Bakatest was supposed to be on my blogging list and thus revive myself from the dead.

———————————————————————————————————

Shouko is sooooooo lovely!!!! This episode made me laugh and squee and “kyaaaaaaaaaa” and “OMG! SO CUTE!!!” so many times that I have lost count. Honestly, I have never seen anything so hilariously epic and entertaining since Fumoffu.

“Yuuji, ecchi.”

I died at the above shot, honestly.

Haunted house? More like house of 1000 horrors.

Shouko!!! Be my bride!!!! KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~

Yuuji is such an AWESOME guy!!! And he ate the bento she made for him!!!

SHOUKO!!! BE MY WAIFU!!!!

New ending this week as well, with the focus being on the girls and… Hideyoshi in a female school outfit?! Shouldn’t she he have her his own ending as the 3rd gender “Hideyoshi”?!

Chu-Bra!!: Episode 7

I took the pictures from Tenka Seiha since I couldn’t find the episode to download at my “usual spot”. So I watched a streaming version of the episode…

OH! but anyway…an episode about Komachi, the only guy the underwear club.

Well…it’s nice to see that Komachi is starting to understand how Nayu and the others feel about underwear, and that they’re not something erotic, even though they can be, they can be meant for comfort too(and “weapons”)~.

Kiyono was just as awesome as ever this week, I just love the way teases everyone~ ♥ she’s definitely spiced up the show and made it so much better(that and she’s got great taste in underwear), but Komachi manages to make things interesting as well. And speaking of Komachi(who was highlight of the episode, but look at who I got caught up talking about instead)he’s clearly got a thing for Nayu if he’s that upset she didn’t remember him… and has anyone else besides me thinking of Komachi as a male tsundere…?

  • What the hell is wrong with you Komachi? can’t you bra together? on a mannequin at least!?
  • I’m starting to find the girls in this show a lot more appealing…
  • After getting to understand how Nayu and the others feel about underwear, Komachi lightens up on the whole underwear club thing and underwear in general, which is good, but he wants to become immune to womans charms…that’s definately not going to happen at his age XD
  • LOLZ the “how to put on a garter belt” insert was wierd.
  • OH~ and there was a love letter…there was a love letter…that’s all…from what I remeber nothing interesting came out of it except for a few wierd thoughts on who could’ve wrote it. Turns out that it was written by some guy who I would assume but it in thw wrong locker…

But when it comes to Chu-Bra, nothing really worth mentioning happens, unlike Baka-test where I have to monitor  my little ‘highlights’. But not much to say, however it was a fun episode overall~(needed something to do =v=u)

This is really evolving into a pretty entertaining show, hopefully I’ll be able to write about the next episode, looks like they’ll be going to the beach.
