I’ve learned, really fast actually, that many anime movies based on a TV series are basically like extremely long episodes, though often with with better animation and music. Ichigo and Rukia must rid of Blank souls from the Valley of Screams in the Severed World, and the only way to get rid of them is to find the Memory Rosary. The Rosary is a being that contains all their memories. The action comes fast and furious in this exciting thrill ride.
The one thing that really annoyed me about the movie was the ending I can’t say why to much because that it’ll give it away but it is heart breaking with what happens to one of the characters in the movie. Bleach: Memories of Nobody also gives the Bleach universe some wonderful new music. The dubbing for all the characters is very good throughout. Whoever watches Bleach knows that the Soul Society has a lot of dark secrets and in this movie this is one of them, I really liked how they jumped right into Ichigo’s character.
So naturally, you must be a fan of the series to follow this film. The story itself is creative, and thought-provoking in terms of the questions it raises about identity and legacy. The movie is what it is. It’s a filler storyline that’s not really important in regards to the anime or manga. Bleach as a story is something that deals with life, death, the afterlife, friendship, and camaraderie. Ichigo as a hero never breaks from his nobility and his fight for justice.
If you’re just here for Bleach’s swordfighting and melee combat, that need is easily filled in the movie’s climax. Sure, it’s a predictable roundup of everyone’s favorite Soul Society characters and their flashy moves, but seeing it in movie form makes all the difference. Yet thinking back on all the anime movies that I have seen adapted from television shows, it’s the rare movie that hasn’t failed to entertain.
